Kodi Yosemite

Kodi Yosemite

Kodi, formerly known as XBMC, is an open-source software all-in-one mega entertainment center which can be installed on Linux, Windows, iOS, Android, Raspberry Pi, and I’ll be showing you how to install Kodi on your Mac running OS X Yosemite, Mountain Lion, and Lion (10.6 and above). With this bad boy install on you Desktop, or laptop, you’ll be “in the car” and on your way to completely free TV, movies, and much more (YES I mean FREE TV which includes cable.) Kodi allows, or gives, the user the ability to play and view most videos, music, podcasts, and other digital media files from local, or network, storage media and the internet.

Kodi for OS X runs natively on Mac OS X. OS X for Mac computers from Apple can provide hardware video decoding for H.264 and MPEG-2 video, though most CPUs are able to software decode other formats in 1080 as well. Macs can use the Apple TV remote, among others, for control of Kodi. Yosemite compatibility. Yosemite arrived in October 2014 and can run on the following Macs: MacBook (Late 2008 to 2010) MacBook Air (Late 2008 to mid 2013) MacBook Pro (13' Mid-2009 to mid 2014).

While installing Kodi on Mac OS X 10.8 or higher then you might get a message saying that XBMC/Kodi “can’t be opened because it is from an unidentified developer”. This is due to the OS X Gatekeeper feature that is designed to discourage users from downloading third party applications.
